The Hurley Group is an NHS organisation that runs 15 GP practices and GP walk in centres across London. We have been providing patient-centred care since 1969, working within some of the UK’s most deprived communities.

Services
Practitioner Health Programme
The Practitioner Health Programme is a free, confidential service for doctors and dentists living in London who have mental or physical health concerns and/or addiction problems. The service is delivered by a highly specialised multi-disciplinary team with particular skills in treating complex mental health issues and addictions and in treating health professionals. Substance Misuse Services
The Hurley Group developed the Community Liaison Addiction Service in Lambeth, which is a community-based team of addiction nurses assisting GPs in looking after substance misusers within Primary Care. This model is now widespread. The Hurley Group will be providing community-based substance misuse services in homeless hostels in Westminster with Turning Point from the end of February and is currently recruiting staff.
Education Links Programme
The Hurley Group employs six school teachers who deliver the health education programme for Primary and Secondary Schools in Lambeth. This innovative programme involves taking various clinicians into schools every week to demystify health-related issues for children. It has been widely acclaimed as an inspirational model for the delivery of health education to schools.
Barry House
The Hurley Group care for the residents of this 140-bed hostel for refugees and asylum seekers. The Home Office in Croydon have stratified these people as being the most medically vulnerable with many, victims of torture and rape, HIV positive and up to a third of residents being children. We have managed to mainstream their care within one of our practices in Peckham.
Hospital services
Many of our surgeries host services usually only provided in hospitals. Examples include diagnostic tests such as X-ray and ultrasound and visiting Hospital Consultants in gastroenterology and cardiology.
Musculoskeletal Services
We host one of the few open access, self-referral physiotherapy services facilities in our Docklands Practice.
Dental and Pharmacy Services
Some of our surgeries are co-located alongside dental and pharmacy services to make patients access to care more convenient.
Benefits Advice
Most of our teams can arrange for patients to get advice with benefits and debt issues, where this is helpful.

- Hurley Clinic – was one of only four practices in London to be awarded Beacon Practice status by former Health Minister John Denham.
