Hurley GP Partnership

We wish to appoint a new partner/s to join us in leading one of the most exciting NHS GP partnerships in the UK. The Hurley Group is a well-established NHS partnership. We have not just survived every storm over the last few decades, but thrived, as you will if you join us.

Being a Hurley Partner means being a leader in a high profile organisation often held up as an exemplar of general practice nationally. You will be networking with senior leaders within the NHS and have a chance to have significant impact in service development. This is both rewarding and challenging in equal measure.

Since 2004 the Hurley Group has expanded across London to deliver care from traditional GP practices, walk-in clinics, urgent care centres, a specialist service for  doctors,  dentists and the broader NHS workfforce with mental health problems (Practitioner Health website) and a national service for gambling addiction.

The Hurley Group never stands still and even given all the current problems within general practice we feel there has never been a better time to be a GP. This might require a change of direction, exploring new avenues for service delivery (such as the online consulting tool eConsult) or expanding to other areas of care. If you are willing to take the challenge you will help us decide on our future as a member of our team.

A partnership at the Hurley is exhilarating, varied, challenging, constantly rewarding and sometimes tough. You will be a clinician, manager, colleague, mentor and above all, a leader.

You need: to be a clinician, flexible, have a good sense of humor, possess a good work ethic, not mind “getting your hands dirty” and be prepared to travel (within the M25, at least!). You will also need to join our GP on-call rota, to cover critical gaps. This includes night time and weekend work where required.

Current Partners

  • Clare Gerada – President of the RCGP, Director, Primary Care Gambling Service
  • Arvind Madan –Transformation lead, former Director of Primary Care NHS England
  • Murray Ellender – Urgent Care and Technology Lead
  • Ben Shankland – HR lead and GP Trainer
  • Ross Dyer-Smith – Caldicott and IG lead
  • Nishma Shah – Hurley Group Medical Director and Responsible Officer
  • Gavin McColl – Primary care Representative, SE London integrated Care Partnership

Although we are all full time, we would consider applications from those wanting to work less than full time.

This is only a brief overview to give you a sense of the role. If you would like to know more, please contact bshanklank@nhs.net or the HR Department lamccg.hurleygrouphr@nhs.net and we can arrange an informal discussion with one of the current Partners.

To apply, please send your CV and Covering letter to lamccg.hurleygrouphr@nhs.net

Closing date: Tuesday 2nd May 2023
Interview date: Interviews between 15 -26 May 2023
