Mike Jones
Primary qualifications: MSc, MRCGP, MRCS, BM BS, BMedSci (Hons)
Prior to becoming a partner in 2022, Mike oversaw the integration of New Cross Health Centre into the Hurley Group in 2013 before taking the helm at our Olympic Village site in Stratford, where he safely managed its rapid growth to over 12,000 patients from scratch. Mike led the team at King’s UCC before navigating our caretaking practice in Upminster to CQC success. He now leads teams at Hurley and Riverside Practices and looks forward to expanding and embedding the growing range of allied health professionals to better meet the needs of the population and to ensure the right care is given by the right professional first time.
Mike has deep-seated interests in healthcare innovation, improving clinical quality and achieving the best outcomes for patients. He worked with UCLPartners from 2015-2018 to increase QI capability and capacity within General Practice across London. He sits on the selection panel for the NHS Innovation Accelerator, and was Associate Editor for the BMJ Open Quality journal. Mike is the RCGP National Lead for Quality Improvement.
Mike was Deputy Medical Director of the group between 2019-2022. He also works for NHS England as a GP appraiser and consults on commissioning projects relating to Londonwide health screening.
Mike graduated from the University of Nottingham with degrees in Biomedical Sciences, Medicine and Surgery. He holds dual Memberships of the Royal Colleges of GPs and Surgeons (Edin.), and has a Master’s degree in Healthcare Leadership and Improvement from Hult Business School.
