Nishma Shah

Primary qualifications: MBBS, MRCPCH, MSc (Heath Policy, Planning and Financing), MRCGP, DRCOG, MSc (Sports and Exercise Medicine), FRGS

Nishma graduated from King's College, University of London in 1997. She became a Partner in 2017 and she is the Group’s Responsible Officer and Medical Director. She trained in Paediatrics and has been a GP since 2008.

As the Medical Director Nishma leads on clinical governance for the Hurley Group, Chairs the Clinical Governance Group and manages clinical performance related concerns. She works with NHS England Medical Directors and licencing bodies for medical and nursing staff including supporting placements within the Group for GPs requiring support to get back to work. She is a GP appraiser and, as RO for the Group, she is involved in revalidation for doctors connected to the Hurley Group.

Nishma is also a reservist in the British Army and is Regimental Medical Officer at the Honourable Artillery Company, London. Rank -Major.

Nishma is a practicing clinician. Areas of interests include sports and exercise medicine, public health, medical education, mental health & wellbeing. Historic roles include chair of the South East Locality Board in Tower Hamlets, GP trainee representative for Camden LMC.

Speciality areas of interest include Tropical and Infectious Diseases. Nishma is a paediatric clinical tutor on East African Diploma of Tropical Medicine Course in East Africa. Another area of interest is Expedition and Wilderness Medicine having been expedition doctor for 3 expeditions in the Himalayas.
